About This Spot

Walking into IKEA Restaurant in Covina feels like stepping into a comforting pause within your day. The cafeteria-style layout encourages a gentle, easy rhythm—grab a tray, take a leisurely stroll along the display of familiar Swedish-inspired dishes, and choose what calls to you. There's a quiet joy in the way families, friends, and solo diners alike settle into the spacious seating area, often with a view that stretches peacefully over the nearby valley, bringing an unexpected sense of calm to a casual meal.

The atmosphere strikes a balance between functional and inviting, where the hum of conversation and clinking cutlery mingles with the natural light filtering through expansive windows. This isn’t a rush-your-meal kind of place, but rather one that invites you to savor simple moments: the aroma of fresh-baked garlic bread, the warmth of a plate of tender Swedish meatballs paired with creamy mashed potatoes, or the sweet surprise in a slice of berry cheesecake or rainbow cake. Even a quick stop here can feel like a small, personal getaway.

Meals here are approachable, thoughtful in their blend of traditional Swedish flavors and classic family-favorite comfort foods. Whether you're sharing crispy chicken tenders and fries, exploring lighter options like the salmon or Stockholm salads, or indulging in a rich chocolate cake, the menu offers a gentle variety that feels both familiar and a touch unexpected.

The restaurant’s welcoming vibe extends to families in particular, with thoughtful touches like complimentary kids' meals alongside adult plates, making it a spot where parents can relax knowing both taste and value are well looked after. It’s a place designed for everyday moments—a slow weekday lunch, an impromptu dinner, or a break while shopping—where the experience is about more than just food; it’s about warmth, small comforts, and shared smiles.

The food is great and is also good value. They offer specials or deals on the weekdays. If you sign up for IKEA Family you get free drinks and coupons for your birthday month. You can download the IKEA app for family membership instead of the plastic cards. Menu items are easy to see and understand. It is cafeteria style, so take a tray and pick up items in the display and then order or specify the items you want to the staff when it gets to your turn. Seating is wide, airy, and bright. When you are done eating, simply clean up your table and place the tray of used dishes on the dish rack in the corner.

We haven’t gotten any food from IKEA since the shut down. We went there looking for a freestanding bathroom cabinet ( didn’t find one) . My hubby was complaining about eating late so I took him to the restaurant to satisfy his time constraints. The restaurant is cafeteria style you grab a tray and tell the servers what you want. Grab drinks and bread and queue up to pay. Pick up silverware . Find a table or have a party member find a table while you get food. Hopefully your table will be clean but I still pack my pandemic survival kit and had wet wipes. The food was delicious. We had the meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. The price was under $35 . I would eat there again.

oh my gosh, I love this place! Can we talk about this view from the IKEA restaurant? It’s like dining with a postcard in the background! I always grab a plate of their delicious meatballs—comfort food at its finest—then soak in the peaceful valley scene like I’m on a mini getaway. Thanks ikea for the complimentary kids meal with a regular adult meal purchase. It makes me love you even more!

Can't beat these prices!! I got a kid's meal for my daughter and another one for me (because they're so dang cheap). Both were good, but next time I would get an actual adult meal for myself because the kids meal was just a bit too small. The Swedish meatballs are soooo good and juicy. Mac n cheese was also yum. We got the chocolate almond thing for dessert as an impulse purchase because it looked soooooo good. It wasn't quite as delicious as it looks, but still really good. And of course, free coffee or tea for being a member (which is free to sign up for).

After walking through a good amount of the iKea store, it’s nice to give yourself a reward at their restaurant! I went on the weekend around 1:00 pm. There was a brief wait to order and pay. While there are many seats, majority of them were taken at this time. However, I was able to grab one after looking around a bit. Of course I got the classic Swedish meatball (16 pc). The meatball is always solid and the highlight of the dish. Close second is the mash potatoes, then the peas. I’m not the biggest fan of the jam, but some people might if they like a bit of sweetness. They accept American Express here!

We ordered: Meatballs,Lemon Cod, Falafel, Chicken Fingers & Gravlax Salmon. You can't go wrong with Ikea meatballs & Gravlax, so delicious everytime. We were surprised how yummy the lemon cod was. They were promoting the falafel and it was ok. It didnt taste like falafels we've had before, it was a bit chewy. Don't think we would order it again. Everything we ordered in the picture came out to $55 with tax. Still a reasonable price.
